Leaf Build was founded on a straightforward idea: that the people managing your project should have actually built things. Not managed spreadsheets from an office — but been on site, solved real problems, and understood what it takes to deliver work that holds up under scrutiny.
Between John Matouk and Jordan Leaf, we bring together commercial-grade project management and hands-on site leadership across projects ranging from $1M to $212M. That depth of experience is now channelled into a focused residential and commercial fitout practice, built specifically for clients in Sydney's eastern suburbs who want quality done properly.
John brings over eight years of high-rise residential and commercial construction experience, having managed projects from design coordination through to handover on jobs up to $180M.
His background spans both the builder side at Toga Constructions and the developer side at P&N Group — which means he understands how decisions made in a design meeting affect what actually happens on site, and what things cost in the real world. He runs procurement and commercial management for Leaf Build, with a particular focus on cost control, early trade engagement and keeping programmes honest.
Jordan has over 12 years of on-site construction experience across some of Sydney's most complex residential and commercial developments. He built his career through the trades before moving into foreman and site leadership roles — which means he can read a site, manage a crew and spot a problem before it becomes one.
At Leaf Build, Jordan runs site operations. He's on the ground managing subcontractors, sequencing trades, maintaining quality and making sure what gets built actually matches what was specified. He was recognised with Toga's Excellence in Quality Award in 2018 — and that standard is what we bring to every project.
Most builders put a layer of project managers between the client and the site. We don't. You deal directly with the people running your project from day one — the same people reviewing drawings, procuring trades, and walking your site every week.
We work on a small number of projects at a time. That's not a limitation — it's a deliberate choice that ensures every client gets proper attention and every project gets properly managed.
